MY GOOD MOOD OUTFIT

Top: here. Boots: here. Coat: here (similar here.) Trousers: similar here. Bag: c/o Bulgari - available this spring.
- - -
If you managed to scroll this far down, I apologise for the over indulgent number of photos. I had two main issues with these images; I LOVE MY NEW LENS and I LOVE THIS OUTFIT. Am I allowed to say that? I think I am. We all are. You know those outfits that put you in a good mood? This is one of them and these are the reasons why;

1. I'd been searching for a white coat that wouldn't make me look like a lab technician for the longest time and I found one.
2. I'm actually wearing seasonally appropriate footwear for the first time in I don't know how long, and oh my god my feet felt so warm and toasty. Is this what everyone else feels like when they wear socks? Why have I been exposing my feet to the cold all winter?!
3. I'm so in love with my new Bulgari Serpenti bag (more on this another time). I was gifted this bag by Bulgari late last year - for which I am immeasurably grateful, and it isn't officially released until this spring so I must admit that there's a small part of me that feels slightly smug about it - not particularly because it was gifted, but because it's not available yet. I am sorry. I spent the entirety of my adolescence playing World of Warcraft. THERE IS NOTHING ELSE COOL ABOUT ME. LET ME HAVE THIS ONE THING. (No but all jokes aside, I am very grateful, to you all as well. If it wasn't for you supporting my content I definitely wouldn't get opportunities like this.)

Touching back on the boots (which are now conveniently in the sale) I found it so difficult to find a pair of non-clompy, reasonably elegant looking everyday boots that had a day appropriate heel. It was almost impossible. The online product photo for these wasn't the most flattering, so I took a risk on these and trusted the reviews I read on the Topshop website. They're flattering, WARM and a perfect sock-style boot with a practical heel and stylishly squared off toe. I adore them so much I am genuinely considering buying a second pair 'just in case'.

Do you have a good mood outfit? I'd love to know what it is!
I also vlogged on the day I shot these photos so I'd love it if you showed that some love.

Thanks to Paige for taking these photos for me!

Chanel Dupes and Cream Boucle

Along with the rest of female-kind, I was recently captivated by the Chanel toe-cap sling backs. But, with the price tag hovering around the £400 mark, I'm neither able nor willing to make such a purchase due to 1. I am not currently in possession of £400 to drop on shoes & 2. I'd never wear them. Quite honestly, I can't see myself ever spending such an amount on a pair of shoes, and not because I think you shouldn't or I think it's silly - the contrary, I can't quite grasp the fact that I would strap to my feet and walk around in something so beautiful and expensive. They literally go on the floor. I would feel guilt with every step. I would genuinely just feel too scared to walk around in them. Also, I can't help but feel that in part, they are a trend - and knowing myself to be quite a fickle person when it comes to clothing and accessories, I'd have grown bored of them by August. So - when Topshop recently dropped their take on the much sought after slingback, I saw them as a perfect alternative. If I dirty them up, it's not the end of the world. If I get bored of them, it's not the end of the world either. No walking around in fear of pavement-dwelling chewing gum or something even more unpleasant. Ideal! So, you'll find me trotting around in these silver, block heel, toe-capped Chanel dupes for the foreseeable future.

What do you think?

Blue Suede / Wide Leg Trousers - 'Cool' Tailoring with River Island

Jacket: here. Top: here. Trousers: here. Shoes: here. - All c/o River Island

I know the situation - I'm not cool, I never have been. So when River Island contacted me asking if I'd like to put together and feature an outfit I was a bit like '...me? Me, who dresses like an accountant? OK SURE.' I've always considered River Island to be pretty hip, so I took this offer as the fashion equivalent of the cool kids asking me to sit with them at lunch. You might say that I took it as a challenge of sorts. Ideally, I wanted to put together something that still represented what I consider to be 'my style' - tailored & smart, but with an edge of River Island-style cool. I think I managed it.

Being quite firmly within my comfort zone, the wide leg, tailored trousers were the first things I gravitated towards. Once I had that 'safe piece' to build around, I filled out the rest of the outfit with a cage-detail vest, snakeskin strappy shoes and a much-too-trendy-for-me suede biker jacket. You heard it right. A blue biker jacket - with the soft blue detailing of the shoes matching perfectly.

The trousers were exceptionally comfortable, unrestrictive and soft, so much so that I also maybe possibly might've ordered them in black too. I think they have a perfect 'office chic' kind of look - a look I definitely favour.

So, thanks River Island for helping me feel a little bit cooler than I actually am.
