Pink Boucle Jacket / Oversized Bow Blouse / Faux Fur Collar

Hello all!

After gazing longingly at my ever-increasing collection of 'spring clothes' piling up on my curtain rail (or what I like to refer to as my 'new in' rail - who needs to actually be able to see out of their window anyway?) I decided to reject this vile weather and embrace the fact that it is now officially spring by repelling the snow and brightening up the world with some pink. 

This sleeveless blouse is a new addition and now, a new favourite. (Although I do feel I look a bit reminiscent of an Easter Egg with my giant head perched atop an oversized bow...)

I panic-bought this blouse on Oxford Street at 10o'clock in the morning on Tuesday, when I was due to be participating in a styling challenge for 'More!' magazine at 11o'clock. For once, I cannot blame my lack of organisation and bad timekeeping, but instead I shall point my rather disappointed finger at ASOS who failed to fulfill their promise of 'next evening delivery'. Meaning 1. I spent the evening before gazing out of the window waiting for my parcel with sad puppy eyes (you may suggest I should have created a plan B... no! I reject plan B. I only settle for plan A.) and 2. I had to style an entirely new outfit on the morning of the actual event. Uh-oh. In the end though, it all went as well as it could have gone and I'm looking forward to sharing the results with you in April! 

Ruffle Blouse / Victorian-Style Coat / Hat with Silk Ribbon

Hello all!

I suppose the presence of snow in these photos slightly gives away the fact that these were not taken today... bad Arabella. Although, I have been excited to share these photos with you as this Parisian-esque blouse (affectionately referred to as my 'Musketeer Blouse') has certainly become a favourite in several outfits - you might recognise it from when I styled it with my chinoiserie print suit. I also love the way the shoulders have been structured on this coat in quite a Victorian way and the beautiful texture which is described as 'jacquard', but I think it's definitely more of a subtle lace print. Despite the blouse being a re-discovered favourite, it was only whilst uploading the photos that it occurred to me that this outfit is ever so reminiscent of The Child Catcher from Chitty Chitty Bang Bang. Not really what I was aiming for...

The new semester at university starts for me tomorrow, so it's time to get my brain back in gear and I will now spend the evening 'preparing' for tomorrow morning!

Chanel Earrings / Boucle Jacket / Miu Miu Sunglasses

Hello all!

Today, I thought I'd share an outfit which includes three new birthday pieces I picked up with my mother on my birthday-day shopping spree; a beautiful, black Zara boucle jacket with white flecks, military-esque silver buttons and the occasional bronze sequin, Miu Miu tortoiseshell sunglasses & my new prized possessions; a pair of gold Chanel earrings I recieved from my very generous and lovely Grandmother.

You might notice that the photos below switch from day lit London to the night time traditional garden setup - the reason being, the camera was running low on battery so I waited until I arrived home that evening to take some 'detail' shots.

So, I'm happy to say that the 'new in' section of my wardrobe is well and truly stocked up and I won't be doing any much shopping for the foreseeable future! (That's a lie and we all know it.)

Boucle Jacket / Collar Chain / Metallic Paisley Skirt

I must begin by apologising for my absence over the past week (you've all heard that before!) but as some of you may know through following me on twitter and instagram, I've been involved with Oxford Fashion Week since last Monday. In total there were 3 shows, so I'll be sharing my outfit photos from the events along with catwalk shots in the upcoming week, so keep your eyes peeled if you're at all interested in that! 

These photos are from last Monday night, where we kicked off the week with a champagne reception and a showing of Coco Before Chanel, in a lovely vintage-style cinema. Of course, with a major part of the evening being an homage to Chanel herself, I couldn't help but dress myself accordingly in a (Topshop lol) Chanel-esque boucle jacket paired with a black lace shirt and accompanying lion-head collar chain (inspired by the ravishingly beautiful Kelly of 'A Twenty Something'!) and my precious Chanel bag - it would've been rude not to!

Frayed Boucle Jacket / Bib Tie Blouse at London Fashion Week

Hello all!

Well, the busiest week of my entire summer break from university has just come to a close, but oddly enough I can't wait to get back to Oxford on Thursday to start my second year. 

This monday I was fortunate enough to be invited along to London Fashion Week, so here's a quick overview of what I wore. I like to think of this outfit as me rebelling against many years of school uniform oppression. (I genuinely had to wear a kilt. I speak the truth.) Despite that, in my 'adult' life I absolutely adore the tailored look, but as always, worn in a way of my own - so even now boucle, blazers, buttoned up shirts and bow-ties often comprise several of my day-to-day outfits.

 On Thursday I also attended the Cosmopolitan and Vo5 Ultimate Street Style Icon 'Judging Day' - which was such an incredible experience, and so enjoyable. I'll be doing a full post on the day in the very near future!

Boucle Jacket and Bow Tie in Notting Hill (London - Part 2)

Hello all!

For the first of my few days enjoying the long Jubilee weekend around London, my lovely friend Bianca and I spent an absolutely gorgeous day in Notting Hill exploring, sitting in a street cafe sipping frappuccinos, lusting over the beautiful rows of houses, snooping around the markets and enjoying the local 'sights' (and there are definitely some interesting 'sights' to be seen - mainly involving who I can only assume to be the resident local mad woman throwing cake at pigeons. Yes you read that correctly..)

I apologise for the fact that you've all already seen this outfit before - but at the very least you can be assured from these photos that I do actually wear my 'blog outfits' out and about in real life! (There's nothing wrong with embellishment for the camera, of course - but we all know it's not unusual for some outfits across the internet to never leave the house/back garden!)

Boucle Jacket with Bow-Tie

Hello all! 

I'm back at long last, after a busy week of go-go-go! On Thursday I finished my first year of university for the summer, and I have absolutely no idea how I am going to even begin filling the FOUR MONTHS until September. So it's quite likely you'll be seeing a lot more of me on here! This look is sort of undeliberately Gossip Girl meets English all-girls boarding school, perhaps I am subconsciously rebelling after years of having to wear a hideous kilt as my school uniform. In fact, I was sent home to change on my first day of sixth-form because I turned up in a huge 'poofy' skirt and military-style jacket, complete with gold buttons and shoulder pads. Michael Jackson would have been proud... but apparently this was deemed inappropriate business-wear. I probably should have chosen to wear a trouser suit from M&S, what can I say? I like to live my life on the edge. (insert sarcasm here)
