White Pleated Skirt / Ruffle Crop Top / Checked Jacket and Miu Miu - A Day in Notting Hill

Top: c/o Missguided. Jacket: c/o BooHoo (I think..) Skirt & Shoes: ZARA. Necklace: H&M. Earrins & Bag: Chanel.

Hello all!

These photos were taken a little while ago on an absolutely beautiful day in London, when I'd gone out for the day with one of my favourite friends Bianca. Let's just take a moment to gaze at these images and pine for the sun that has now sadly left us. I hope for us all that it will return soon. I should probably address something that to me, seems horribly wrong with these photos. I look quite tanned. This is some unrequested camera trickery, I have not recently popped to the Caribbean or basked in any kind of sun. I'm my usual shade of TRANSLUCENT. Not that there's anything wrong with being tanned, of course. It just doesn't suit me. I once had a spray tan when I was 15 in an attempt to make myself seem cool (it didn't work) and as I was leaving the salon a small child pointed at me and asked her mother 'Mummy, why is that girl so orange?' I looked like I'd rolled in mud - NEVER AGAIN.

In regards to the outfit, I do hope you like it. I feel like sometimes I look so prim and 'prissy' (I'm not even sure I know what prissy means but we'll go with it) and on occasion I wish I could be like one of those people who go around in ripped jeans and trainers looking all 'cool' and like they regularly go to the kind of concerts where there are no chairs and you have to stand up. That kind of thing. Then I remember I hate jeans and trainers make me look like an extra in Kevin & Perry. Do you ever wish you could pull off a style that doesn't suit you? Please let me know!

Oh and p.s. if you'd like to, and if you enjoy my blog & instagram, I'd be so happy if you took a minute to nominate me in the Company Style Blogger Awards for 'Best Personal Style Blog' There's a link to it in my sidebar - I've never made it to the Company Blog Awards yet so I'm hoping I might get there this year :)

Double p.s. You might also notice that I'm now 'arabellagolby.com' rather than 'arabellag.com', so now all of my social media usernames match, and I always felt like 'arabellaG.com' conjured up images of me as some kind of 'gangster' which is, let's face it, quite far from the truth..

Coral Pleated Skirt / Floaty Crop Top / Jewel and Pearl Necklace

Hello all!

I'm more excited than usual to share this outfit with you for several reasons; the first of which being this necklace. I really love the mixture of the rich jewel colours with the pearls and gold framing. Next, these black, cat eye Miu Miu sunglasses with gold hardware are from Sunglasses Shop and are oh-so-perfect that I just want to wear them all day and all night. I want to wear them while I sleep. Bit weird maybe. Finally, I'm actually wearing flat shoes. I can't remember the last time I wore flat shoes in a blog post. I certainly don't 'dress up' for my blog, I wear the outfits I feature and I do wear low-mid heels almost everyday, but I'm trying to 'cut back' (so tragic) in preparation for my upcoming trip to Paris. I want to feel comfortable walking around all day, rather than being massively aware of my shoes - but generally I tend to feel a bit inelegant and lollopy in flats. It's just because I've become so used to how I look and feel in heels. I've brainwashed myself. Ridiculous, I know.

I've now mentally filed this outfit as one to take with me on my trip - do you think I'll fit in on the streets of Paris? I heard a couple of weeks ago that to be stylish in Paris you have to be super skinny, blonde and only wear black. 0/3. In that case... do you think they'll even let me out of The Channel Tunnel?

P.s. I'd also love some feedback on this new format - do you prefer my jabberings to come before the outfit images (as usual) or like this, with the images first and text afterwards? I'd love to hear your thoughts.

Blue Rose Print Pleated Skirt / Off-The-Shoulder Lace Crop Top

Hello all!
You know what they say about finding something you like and then buying it in every colour? Yep, it's not only sensible, but practical too... that's what the little voice in my head tells me, so it must be true. If you've been enjoying my little slice of the internet for a while you might remember the all-white version of this skirt I wore to the last London Fashion Week (click here if you'd like reminding!) I still love that skirt and wear it frequently, so when I spied this floral take on that skirt in store, I gravitated towards it like that emoji face with heart eyes (I may or may not have bought the plain pale blue version too). To really emphasise the blue of this skirt I decided to wear it with blue earrings, a blue and white necklace and bright blue shoes. So much blue. I'm considering wearing this to the London Bloggers Cocktail Party in Covent Garden on Saturday - what do you think? Also, let me know if you'll be there!

Frayed Boucle Jacket / Bib Tie Blouse at London Fashion Week

Hello all!
Well, the busiest week of my entire summer break from university has just come to a close, but oddly enough I can't wait to get back to Oxford on Thursday to start my second year.
This monday I was fortunate enough to be invited along to London Fashion Week, so here's a quick overview of what I wore. I like to think of this outfit as me rebelling against many years of school uniform oppression. (I genuinely had to wear a kilt. I speak the truth.) Despite that, in my 'adult' life I absolutely adore the tailored look, but as always, worn in a way of my own - so even now boucle, blazers, buttoned up shirts and bow-ties often comprise several of my day-to-day outfits.

Jacket : ZARA. Blouse, Skirt & Necklace : Topshop. Bag : Chanel. Sunglasses : eBay.

On Thursday I also attended the Cosmopolitan and Vo5 Ultimate Street Style Icon 'Judging Day' - which was such an incredible experience, and so enjoyable. I'll be doing a full post on the day in the very near future!
